5 out of 5 starsCan’t wait to use this pattern. Is a hand made pattern labeled by hand. Will have to piece each item to figure out how to sew together but as a regular seamstress with some experience should not have any trouble. Can’t wait for finished dress 👗 Thank you for labeling each piece. Would be lost trying to figure out what each small piece is.

5 out of 5 starsThis pattern is exactly what I wanted! I was out of town when it arrived, so I appreciate the signature required. The pattern tissue is very nice, and the basic construction steps and photos will be helpful. I recommend having intermediate sewing skills when working with linings. I look forward to making this!

Sizing details
All the patterns in my shop are handmade specially for you.
I'm a pattern maker, and all my patterns are handmade to a standard size or custom size. In order to make the best size for you, I need to know as many details as possible. For this reason, I need confirmation of your standard size.
Every item in my shop will have an image showing the standard sizes for that item.
If you need any help, just ask!
Custom and personalized orders
I love making custom sewing pattern designs! I can create the pattern from scratch, or from a photo that you send me. The end result would be exactly what you’re requesting. The price would vary depending on the design.
In order to make a pattern that fits you as perfectly as possible, the more measurements that I can have, the merrier. For custom patterns, I'd ask that you do provide all the measurements that you see on my website – http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html
even if they might seem a bit unnecessary.
I'll be happy to help you with any questions that you may have. Thank you!
Care instructions
About the sizes of my patterns, you can choose Standard sizes S, M, L or XL, or I can make the pattern with custom measurements.
All my patterns are the exact size of the dress, hand drawn on white paper, and ready to mark and cut on the fabric, although, as the pattern is the exact size of the dress, I recommend you place it over your skin and "try it on" before you cut.
What is the difference between the bust and the upper bust, where do you measure this?
Each patternmaking method has his own sizes. In addition to this, the way of taking measurements is different depending on the patternmaking method.
I use the Martí System to make my patterns. This system uses a measurement for both upper bust and bust.
To take your measurements I recommend going my page http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html
I hope this will help you. I’ll be delighted to help you with any other questions you may have.
Is it normal someone’s measurements to fall between two sizes?
It’s quite normal for someone’s measurements to fall between two sizes. I’m a perfect example: size S for the upper part of my body, and size M for the lower half. This kind of thing is normal, and I can adapt the pattern to suit your measurements. For this reason, your real measurements are more important to me than your UK or EU sizes.
To take your measurements I recommend going to my measurements page and taking measurements 7,8 and 11. Just send me these three measurements, and I can tell you what standard size will you need for my patterns. The page is here: http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html
I hope this will help you. I’ll be delighted to help you with any other questions you may have.
Do you include any instructions with this pattern?
All my patterns are handmade to a standard size or custom size and they contain English or Spanish notes as well as notches that make it easy to join the pieces of the pattern together.
You'll also receive FOR A NO CUSTOM DESIGNS a cutting diagram that will indicate the length of the fabric (in either centimeters or inches, whichever you prefer).
To keep prices down, SEWING INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT INCLUDED. If you require sewing steps /instructions for your pattern, please let me know before placing your order.
- No hem or seam allowance.
- No detailed instruction, only the notches and symbols, and named lines basic instructions
What measurements do you need to take for a custom size?
If you'd like a custom size, go to my page: http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html, and follow the illustrated instructions on how to take your measurements.
Just as a reminder, for custom-size patterns there are two items to purchase: the CUSTOM DESIGN you like and the CUSTOM SIZE item.
If some measurements are missing this makes the custom-size pattern a little less precise. It's not a big problem, but I want you to be aware of this.
In the pattern-making process that I use, the first step is creating the exact shape of the body (rather than the dress). This is why I request all the measurements be taken.
FOR A CUSTOM SIZE, I really need the body measurements, as they help me to visualize who will wear the dress.
What measurements do you need to take for a standard size?
If you'd like a standard size pattern, all I need to know is your upper bust, bust, waist and hip.
Below is a description of how I measure the upper bust and the bust. You can also see some photos on my weebly page: http://contrapunt.weebly.com/taking-measurements.html
The bust,:
From the left armpit to the right armpit, passing over the most prominent part of your bust. This only includes your front/bust area; please do not include your back.
The upper bust :
Pass the tape right round the body, under your arms and above your bust. Do not pull the tape taut.
I hope this is helpful. If not, let me know, and I'll be happy to clarify!
Thank you
Estimated shipping times
Estimates Registered shipping time to Europe, USA, is 8-14 days. Shipping express via DHL time is between 3-5 days
But I cannot guarantee them. Actual delivery time will depend on the shipping method you choose.
If the pattern doesn't arrive, our options are more limited as I consider shipping delays to be the responsibility of the shipping company.
I will file a claim which will help to expedite the delivery. If, in the end, I receive a confirmation that the envelope has been lost in the post, I will give you a full refund.
My refund policy is:
I always refund half of the price immediately if the client no longer wants the pattern, and I refund the other half when I receive a letter from the postal service confirming either that the envelope has been lost or that it will be returned and the case is solved. This is for pattern designs that I have in my shop.
For CUSTOM DESIGN PATTERNS, I can sometimes provide a refund if you are not satisfied. I just require some kind of proof that the pattern has been tried on and that the size or measurements do not correspond with the measurements ordered.
